Sunraysia Academy of Sport athlete, Montana Beruldsen, has just returned from representing Victoria at the National Touch Football Championships.
Montana Beruldsen has demonstrated her all around athletic ability, after being selected for the Victorian U15 Girls Touch Football Team. Montana started playing touch football in year 7 representing Chaffey Secondary College. This year the school team played in Melbourne earlier in the year and won the 15 year girls division. Following her outstanding performance in that competition, Montana was asked to try out for the Victorian State team. She impressed selectors with her speed, agility and her knowledge of the game of Touch Football she was selected in the State Victorian team, travelling to Melbourne on most weekends for training.
The Touch Football Championships were held in Morwell, Victoria from 20-24th October. The Victorian team won a Silver medal in Pool B, playing off against South Australia in the final. Montana had a fantastic tournament, scoring the most tries for Victoria.
In the future Montana hopes to play in Victorian teams at the Under 18 or T20 age groups and possibly play in a team in the VT League of Touch Football in Melbourne.
Currently Montana is a member of the Sunraysia Academy of Sport Volleyball program. She is also a member of Mildura and District Little Athletics Club where she has competed in numerous State Finals.
