Gold Medal for Clay Target Shooter

r0_25_1250_728_w1200_h678_fmaxClay Target Shooter athlete, Beth Hayden won the GOLD MEDAL in the Senior Girls category at the North West Zone Secondary School Shoot event held in Cohuna last Thursday. Congratulations Beth. Commitment and dedication to your chosen sport is paying off.  Even the bad weather did not put you off, true champion.

SAS Clay Target Shooters Having a Blast!

Luke Argiro (Skeet Shooter) will be competing from Sept 14-18 in the FISU World University Games in Poland and brother Nathan (Olympic Trap Shooter) will be competing at the second Junior World Cup of 2016 in Azerbaijan. Luke will be up against the best in his age group in the world. Amazing to think these boys come from Yelta and are competing at a world level.¬†The difference between involvement and commitment? Good shooting requires that you be committed to the shot before the gun closes, not just involved. Commitment means your attention is fully present-all of it-before you call for that “bird”.

Congratulations Nathan and Luke…go for it.

SAS Golf Program is on a roll, Madeline Jukes has qualified for the State Primary School Finals held in November 2016. Congratulations Madeline on this great achievement at such a young age. Well done coach Mike McKenzie, getting these athletes to this level. Thank you to Riverside Golf Course, Sunraysia Golf Range, Victoria Golf Foundation, Wildside Outdoors (Strength & Conditioning Coach Damien Gibson) and Sports Liaison Officer, Glenn Parker for assisting these athletes in giving it their best SHOT.  Keep believing Madeline, because we believe in you.

Congratulations to SAS Golf Athlete Tarsha Hawley who has been selected in the State Squad. I watched Tarsha train the other week, very focused and committed athlete. It’s that easy to get selected in the sport of Golf, you have done extremely well Tarsha and totally deserve being selected.
