Jayden Curtis competed at the Australian Little Athletics Championships held in Melbourne on the 3rd May and Claimed a Silver Medal in the U13 800m.
Sunraysia Academy of Sport Athletics athlete, Jayden Curtis, has just returned from competing at the National Little Athletics Championships in Melbourne. He competed in both the U13 800m and 1500m and ran exceptionally well, posting Personal Best times in both events.
The first race Jayden ran was the 1500m where he recorded a time of 4:34:99 and placed a creditable 5th. Jayden raced the 800m in the afternoon and clocked a time of 2:12:34 which was good enough to win a Silver medal.
The Sunraysia Academy of Sport Athletics Program in only its second year has gone from strength to strength. This is the first time an athlete from this program has won an individual medal at a National Championships. It is also the first time an athlete from Mildura has been selected to compete at the U13 Australian Little Athletics Championships.
The Academy would like to thank Salisbury Athletics Club and Mildura & District Little Athletics Club for their wonderful support of the program, and Emily McClelland, Head Coach, who has dedicated many hours of her time to develop training programs and coach these athletes. The SAS Athletics Program is currently in recess and will start again in September.
The Academy congratulates Jayden on this wonderful achievement.
