The 2015 Sunraysia Academy of Sport Golf Program will start this weekend with 5 Golfers heading down to the Mornington Peninsular to attend the Annual Victorian Regional Academy’s of Sport Super Camp – held at Moonah Links Golf Club.
Sophie Crouch, the most experienced golfer attending, will be attending her third camp and Zepp Dekkert his second. Newcomers to the program; Tarsha Hawley, Blake Myers and Edward Parker will all experience the camp for the first time.
Glenn Parker, the District Junior Coordinator, will travel with the golfers. The Academy is very grateful for his time in driving the golfers and being the chaperone for the weekend.
Run by Golf Victoria, the camp is an opportunity for all golfers from the six Regional Sporting Academy’s around Victoria to come together to train at one of Victoria’s greatest education Venues.
Nestled in the Mornington Peninsula, Moonah Links Golf Club has a purpose built Academy which was once the training home for the Australian Institute of Sport Gold Program. It has trained the likes of Geoff Ogilvy and Matthew Goggin to name a few. With world class facilities athletes will gain the experience of playing on a professional course and the insight of the amount and standard of training it takes to become a golfing pro.
The camp consists of two days of training under Victorian State and National Coaches, along with highly skilled technical training using state of the art equipment and motion analysis materials.
