The 2013 Sunraysia Tennis athletes have wrapped up their first year of this modern, progressive program and taken a major step up in their development as highly competitive players throughout Victoria and Australia.
Doug Hill, Tennis Victoria’s Regional State Coach said “he was absolutely delighted with the results, energy, determination and attitude of all the players over this year and with the players lined up for 2014, he is very excited at the advanced progress they will make second year round”.
Together with on-court training, athletes have received the sometimes overlooked skills of diet & nutrition, psychology, timetabling (diaries), fitness, flexibility, agility and commitment. All to make up an elite athlete.
In summary, Sunraysia’s best have accumulated some outstanding performances
AMT & Junior Tour Events – Winner x 3 times; Runner up x 4 times; Semi-finalist x 6 times; Q/finalist x 6 times and a 5th place in the State Teams Challenge. The SAS Tennis program is a holistic approach with parents and private coaches involved in the development and pathway direction.
Head coach Doug Hill thanked the Victorian State Government, Tennis Victoria, Mildura Lawn Tennis Club and local business’s for the generous sponsorship of this significant tennis program and gratefully acknowledges the encouragement and contribution of the player’s parents, private coaches and their peers.
